About myself |
Music: I like lots of different kinds of music, REM, U2, Police, Queen, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Crowded House, Peter Gabriel, Billy Bragg, The Pogues, Eddi Reader, Ofra Haza, Paul Weller, The Doors, Kate Bush, Susan McKeown, Nick Drake, Souad Massi and Elvis Costello. I also like folk music by people like Kate Rusby, June Tabor, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Capercallie and Sileas. My favorite of all though is the American singer, Natalie Merchant. Ever since I first heard her sing back in 1987, I was captivated. She has such a soft, beautiful and distinctive voice but the songs she writes are about important issues like marriage, illiteracy, the environment, war, justice and the beauty of life.Movies: Babel, Reds, Ice Cold in Alex, Dr Strangelove, The Third Man, Dog Day Afternoon, Bowling For ColumbineWhatImInto: I love to travel especially to obscure and out of the way places. I'm interested in history, mainly of the 20th Century but I'm gradually becoming more interested in earlier periods. I'm very interested in news from around the world. I enjoy reading the newspaper and hearing about events in far away places especially unusual and under reported countries. I'm interested in photography. I hope you like the photos on this site.
